The Scheduling Settings page allows clinic administrators to define how appointments are managed when multiple patients are booked with the same therapist. These settings help adapt PhysioFlow to different clinic workflows without affecting existing appointment records.
Key Features
- Allow or prevent overlapping therapist appointments
- Set a maximum number of concurrent patients per therapist
- Configure rules without affecting existing appointment records
Overlapping Sessions
Some clinics allow therapists to supervise multiple patients simultaneously, while others require one therapist to treat only one patient at a time. PhysioFlow supports both approaches — you can choose whether therapists are allowed to have overlapping appointments or whether the system should prevent scheduling conflicts automatically.
Maximum Concurrent Patients
If overlapping sessions are enabled, you can define the maximum number of patients that a therapist may supervise at the same time, for example:
- One patient only (strict scheduling).
- Two concurrent patients.
- Three or more concurrent patients, depending on your clinic's workflow.
The system will prevent appointments that exceed the configured limit.
Flexible Scheduling
These settings are particularly useful for clinics that provide group therapy sessions, pediatric rehabilitation, exercise supervision, or multi-room treatment models. Each clinic can configure scheduling rules according to its own operational needs.
Important Note
These settings affect therapist scheduling only. Room availability, appointment duration, and other scheduling rules continue to operate independently.
Best Practice
Choose scheduling rules that reflect how your therapists actually work. If your clinic follows one-to-one treatment sessions, disable overlapping appointments. If therapists commonly supervise multiple patients, enable overlapping sessions and define an appropriate maximum patient limit.
